Epidemiologist

LMC is Canada’s largest specialty provider in Diabetes and Endocrinology.  We have over 50 Endocrinologists and 34 Diabetes Educators in 11 centres of excellence providing specialist care to over 56,000 patients across Canada.

Currently, our rapidly expanding team is in need of an Epidemiologist who can work for us on a full time basis at our Bayview Head Office with occasional travel to various sites.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Research project coordination including the design of clinical trials, training of staff, and project management
  • Work independently with investigators and clinicians in protocol design, implementation and analyses, and writing for research projects such as clinical trials and real world studies
  • Abstract and scientific manuscript writing
  • In–depth data analysis and reporting for research projects using various statistical methods and software
  • Extracting, manipulating and analyzing data from large data sets
  • Theory and application of epidemiological concepts and related best practices
  • Consulting with internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications- Education, Experience & Certification                        

  • Masters degree or higher in Epidemiology,  Health Sciences or other related discipline (PHD preferred)
  • Minimum of 2 years experience with statistical analysis
  • Proficiency with statistical software packages such as SAS, SPSS, or R, and familiarity with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and other packages and programming languages currently used to collect, analyze and report data
  • Experience in manipulating large data sets
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to present various data and concepts to diverse audiences including clinical staff and external parties such as industry experts, and to prepare written summaries of research reports and scientific manuscripts
  • Must be independent and open to taking initiative for personal learning and research
  • Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
  • Adaptable and ready to work in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Strong organizational and project management skills and effective execution skills to ensure successful delivery/implementation of special initiatives, products, and processes, with the ability to meet competing priorities
  • Takes initiative to identify where changes are needed and takes charge to drive changes forward
