Manager, Phase 1

LMC’s clinical network is comprised of 11 Healthcare Centres of Excellence, in 3 provinces (Quebec, Ontario and Alberta ).

Currently, our rapidly expanding team is looking for a Manager, Phase 1 who can work for us on a full time basis, supporting our LMC Bayview clinic.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Accountable for the management of the  CPU unit and all direct reports
  • Interview, recruit, hire, supervise, train and retain full time and contract CPU staff
  • Create and maintain job descriptions and schedules for CPU full time and auxiliary staff
  • Coordinate quarterly and annual reviews for all CPU staff as well as organize "team" building and educational events for CPU staff
  • Create and maintain a training curriculum  for the CPU
  • Create and maintain SOPs, study directives or working procedures for the CPU
  • Oversee & review creation of  study documents (i.e. source worksheets, MD summary)
  • Be involved with equipment procurement and rentals, as needed
  • Liaise with CRAs and Project Managers related to quality assurance and potential new research opportunities for Phase 1 research
  • Reviews prospective projects for feasibility and responsible for resource planning
  • Provides input on budget requirements including budgeted study hours
  • Actively network with industry related contacts and  organizations such as JDRF & CDA to help with CPU promotion and patient recruitment for clinical trails
  • Manage and oversee audit preparation for site inspections: FDA, HC, ERBs and Sponsor
  • Identifies opportunities for continuous quality improvement and recommends updates to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Monitors the process of each individual study, ensuring quality in performance
  • Create, in collaboration with the recruitment team,  recruitment plans that will meet project objectives
  • Collaborate with research team in marketing & advertising of clinical studies
  • Assist Regulatory Coordinators with Phase 1 Regulatory submissions
  • Ensure all Clinical Research Personnel are managing assigned duties: Quality Control, Data Management, Recruitment Department and/or Clinical Report/Bio-stats
  • Be accountable for all CPU activities including site selection, recruitment timelines, study visits, site management and closeout activities
  • Assist and be involved with patient care as needed
  • Assist the President of Research and/or Investigators with any other research tasks, as required

Requirements:

  • Bachelors of Science Degree or equivalent
  • Project Management certification, an asset
  • Phase 1 experience an asset
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in clinical research
  • Minimum of 1 year supervisory experience of a diverse group of professionals
