What will you be doing? 

You’ll be managing a multi-line phone switchboard to receive 100 phone calls per day from patients, so you must be able to handle a high-volume of work, in a fast-paced environment.  Your experience with a multi-line switchboard is definitely an asset! 

All patient interaction is by phone or email and because you’ll be speaking with patients all day, your positive attitude and outlook will be put to great use, as well as your excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 

To be successful, you absolutely must be organized and love multi-tasking: you’ll be completing physician’s daily tasks and assignments such as managing physician calendars & schedules, contacting patients, scheduling and rescheduling appointments, booking referrals, etc.  You’ll also have a large patient group, not to mention the high volume of in-coming phone calls and emails!    

If you enjoy learning and working with systems, you’ll be thrilled to work with a state-of-the-art Electronic Medical Records (EMR) environment. Experience with an EMR system is a must though! 

Lastly, Medical Office Experience with a Medical Office Assistant Diploma is a definite asset.
