Vision Therapist (Maternity Leave Coverage)
Location: Richmond Hill, ON
At Individual Eyes, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional eye care services and enhancing the quality of life for our patients. Our dedicated team is passionate about eye health, and we are currently seeking a Vision Therapist to cover maternity leave and continue our mission during this period. This is a temporary part-time position (25-35 hours/week) expected to last approximately one year, with the possibility of extension.
Position Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and compassionate individual to join our team in Richmond Hill. This role will involve working with patients of all ages, focusing on those with visual processing disorders, strabismus, and related conditions. The Vision Therapist will be responsible for conducting therapy sessions, developing individualized treatment plans, and collaborating closely with our optometrists. We are willing to train the right candidate, so previous experience is not critical. ECE or OT designations may be a good fit for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive vision therapy sessions as prescribed by optometrists.
- Develop and implement customized treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust therapy techniques as necessary.
- Educate patients and their families about vision therapy processes and exercises.
- Maintain accurate records of patient assessments, treatment plans, and progress.
- Collaborate with the optometry team to ensure integrated patient care.
- Participate in community outreach and educational programs to promote vision health.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Vision Science, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, or a related field (preferred).
- Vision Therapist, Early Childhood Educator or Occupational Therapist designation
- Experience in vision therapy or a background in optometry is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with children and adults.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.

Compensation range: The expected compensation for the position is $20-$25/hourly. Actual compensation will be based on a candidate's credentials, experience, and geographic location in which the position is located.
